What is it?

Resin from Indonesia. A delicious fragrance that is very comforting and nurturing so think in terms of a duvet hug!

Detailed Description

A rich and sweet, balsamic note with good depth and more than a hint of vanilla and chocolate. One of the ingredients for the original Friars Balsam as it helps a lot with respiratory complaints.

Skin Care

A wonderful choice for chapped skin or skin that is irritated and inflamed. Great for a gardeners hand cream or people who have their hands in contact with detergents a lot like hairdressers. It has a cooling effect on the joints where there is hot inflammation so a great choice for arthritis and rheumatism blends when it is hot.

Hair Care

No specific Hair Care use but inhaling it in when included in a shampoo, it instils a warming and comforting feeling that is very deep and as a base note it effectively covers the smell of strong smelling raw materials like sea silk.

Suggested Blends

With other base note oils like sandalwood and patchouli but also gives good depth to more middle notes like rose and jasmine. It can round and soften some of the harshness of spicier notes like cardamom.

Cautions

Don’t blend with ginger as ginger is warming whilst benzoin is cooling.
