In vivo tests - Brightening effect
20 healthy female volunteers aged 18 to 46, with a range of skin types were selected for this study. The volunteers applied a cream containing 0.1% Skinbright Active on one side of the face, twice daily, for 2 months, and a placebo cream on the other side.
The brightening effect was instrumentally evaluated by means of a Chromameter CR-300. Mean values from 5 successive measurements were calculated. These 6 measurements were rigorously made at the same location at each time.
Measurements were taken before application, after 30 days and after 60 days of treatment.
After 30 days of treatment, there was significant increase in skin luminance for the skin that was treated with Skinbright Active Cream. The placebo cream presented no significant effects.
After 60 days of treatment, the brightening effect induced by the cream containing Skinbright Active increased in respect to the results at 30 days and it was significantly superior to the effect observed for the placebo cream. In short, the results of the in vivo test prove that Skinbright Active is able to induce a skin brightening effect after 30 and 60 days of treatment.
At the end of the study, no adverse effects were reported by the volunteers.
Skinbright Active showed no cytotoxic effects on melanocytes, keratinocytes or fibroblasts, neither mutagenicity nor any irritation or sensitisation reaction. Its efficacy was tested in cell-free enzymatic assays as well as in cell-based assays. It proved to inhibit both mushroom and endogenous human tyrosinase in vitro, and exhibited a significant depigmenting effect on human melanocytes. The product also proved to have a significant photo-protective effect on human epidermal keratinocyte cell cultures, and can therefore prevent the skin-damaging effects of ultraviolet radiation.
In conclusion, Skinbright Active can be classified as a safe skin brightening agent due to its impeccable safety profile and contrasted in vitro and in vivo efficacy.

"Its very good active"
"I had left some negative review on this Active previously as couldn’t see much change to hyperpigmentation after using for sometime at 5% perhaps because the hyperpigmentation was severe. Increased it to 20% in my cream which does make this a an expensive Active but I am seeing a difference. It will take time I guess to see complete fading but very happy with results so far at 20-25% and I am happy that I can order this Active thru Aromatic."
"I scar easily and suffer from hyperpigmentation which last years. A small mosquito bite or an accidental burn when taking food out of the oven ends up, leaving ugly, brown scars, all over my arms! Initially, I was disappointed with this ingredient as I was not seeing much of a difference. But I have been using consistently and increased the percentage and finally starting to see results. I would say it does take time to fade scars but if you are looking to brightens skin tone or lacklustre skin, you can see a difference quicker !"
"Very happy with this active. Used it in my oil serum and it works great."
"I have been trying to treat hyperpigmentation caused by sun damage for years now with Skin Bright & keep trying this product but it hasn’t faded. The study Aromantic writes about in the descriptions with fantastic results was not done using Skin Bright but using the Dimethylmethoxy Chromanyl Palmitate. Skin Bright contains this ingredient but Aromantics have heavily diluted it in sunflower. Please can Aromantic sell this Active without diluting it so customers can buy the Active as it’s sold by the manufacturer and we can use it in 0. 1% as per the manufactures recommendation! We will need to use less percentage of it & it will be the actual product the manufacturer tests were done on . At the moment skin bright being heavily diluted we are expected to use a lot more than 0. 1% & from my personal experience not seeing good enough results for it!"
"I wrote a review just now but not sure if I posted it as can’t see so re-writing. I have been consistently using this product to treat sun damage hyperpigmentation for 2 years but it hasn’t faded enough. The study described with fantastic results in the description was not not done with Skin Bright but with Dimethylmethoxy Chromanyl Palmitate which Aromantics have heavily diluted in Skin Bright! I don’t understand why? Dimethylmethoxy Chromanyl Palmitate Is very easy to use for customers. If Aromantics could sell Dimethylmethoxy Chromanyl Palmitate without diluting it,customers could add 0. 1-0. 5% as per manufacturer recommendations & we may see good results. As of now Skin Bright being heavily diluted by Aromantics, we are having to use a lot more to get the Active, buy more often & I am not seeing results good enough after 2 years! Please sell the Active Dimethylmethoxy Chromanyl Palmitate without dilution. It is very easy to use"
"Not sure if it’s working . The active diethylmethoxy chromonyl palmitate does help fade Hyperpigmentation & brightens skin but Aromantic sells this ingredient heavily diluted in sunflower oil! Much prefer if they would sell this ingredient without the sunflower oil added to dilute it. Then it would be a really effective ingredient."
"I am a Chemist & I have bought this ingredient many times before to add to my hyperpigmentation face cream formulation but not sure it is doing much. The ingredient diethylmethoxy chromanyl Palmitate does bright skin & fade Hyperpigmentation however Aromantic sells this ingredient here heavily diluted in sunflower oil so it does not do much or takes much longer to see any change. I would much appreciate if Aromantic would sell this ingredient without diluting it with sunflower oil as other cosmetic ingredient suppliers do. That way when I add 1-3% in my formula, I am actually getting 1-3% in the cream not the diluted version."
"Brilliant results every time. I regularly formulate a skin brightening serum with this. My husband and I use it regularly. It helps boost our natural glow, and our facial skin looks clear, smooth, and bright. It's a staple in our home."
"I have been formulating with this ingredient, i find it a little slow but I think its working. Face has a glow."
