New charges for international mail from 25th February 2009
We have had to implement a new charge from 25th February 2009 for some countries. UK postcodes and Ireland are not affected and parcels going to those destinations will not incur an extra charge.
The new surcharges are:
• International Signed For - a trackable parcel insurance service
International Signed For – for individual parcels under 2kg for certain countries only
We will be charging a flat fee of £4 for the following countries for each* airmail parcel under 2kg. This is because delivery to these zones can be unreliable due to a number of reasons. We have been carrying the costs of these undelivered parcels but we cannot do this any longer so have decided to improve our service by always using Royal Mail’s International Signed For trackable insured parcel service to ensure safe delivery for each parcels under 2kg* to certain countries only. All items are tracked until they leave the UK – and in some cases on arrival in the destination country. If you think your parcel is taking too long to arrive please contact us and we will check the status of your order and if necessary, we will send you a traceable number and a link to the Royal Mail’s track & trace web page, where you can check the progress of your item online until it reaches the destination country’s postal service as a registered item. A signature should be taken at the destination but Royal Mail doesn’t guarantee this in every instance.
* Note: That is why, if you have placed an order that weighs more than 2kg but less than 4kg, we have to break your order down into two parcels not weighing more than 2kg each and you have to pay a tracking fee for each separate parcel.
