"Thank you so much
for the two days. I wasn't feeling confident about trying to
make a really high quality, natural product and getting involved
in the beauty / bodycare business, but now I know I have a
source for materials and for learning and I really want to
go for it and offer people in Ireland and beyond something
better and more natural.
You are an excellent teacher and my only
regret was that I wasn't staying for Sunday as well." |

This recipe is taken from Aromantic Newsletter no 27, Spring 2008. Sugar cane produces glycolic acid, one of the natural alpha hydroxy acids that exfoliates the skin.
This Sugar Scrub is a luxurious blend of sugar in vitamin-rich and cleansing oils that is suitable for dry/sensitive skin. If you do have sensitive skin, remember to use essential oils that are suitable, such as lavender, chamomile, etc. If you want to turn this Scrub into an Anti-Cellulite product, then why not add Celery Seed (Organic) Essential Oil or our Detox Essential Oil Blend as they will help treat cellulite by stimulating the lymphatic system.
100g Brown Sugar
5ml Thistle Oil
5ml Avocado Oil
5ml Castor Oil
2ml/g Vitamin E Oil (undiluted, 100%)

NB! The clay must be sprinkled into the water. Allow it to gently settle. The xanthan gum is beaten in vigorously in Stage 2.
This gel is sufficiently liquid to be stored in bottles. If you wish to make a thicker gels to keep in jars, add an additional 0.5-1g xanthan gum to your recipe. Does not remove eye make-up. Massage into dry skin & rinse off. Use the right clay for your skin type. See our Face Mask article for more information.

It is useful to write down all your recipes, including the ones which are not so successful, along with the date, a batch number and the intended purpose of the product. With all this information you should be able to work out the reason for any problems you may have and more importantly will be able to reproduce your successes.
The main thing to remember is to have fun and enjoy yourself!
