In this recipe, you allow 0.5% essential oil but there is no emulsifier in the formula. Why is that? Thanks

Please see the below response from our Research and Development Team;
“In a gel such as this an emulsifier is not necessary as carrier oils are not a part of the formulation. Essential oils may need to be solubilised in an water based gel but we have not found this to be necessary with this particular gel as the Hyaluronic Acid Eco Powder forms a gel that is strong enough to hold the essential oils within it.
You could solubilise the essential oils, if you wish to, by combining them, and the preservative, with 2% Emulsifan. Stir them together then leave them to solubilise for an hour or as long as it takes before adding them to the rest of the product. Remember to subtract that from the hydrolats so that the total remains 100%."
