Microfine Titanium Dioxide is accepted as a safe Sun Barrier all around the world. This is because it is inorganic and has a record of having no adverse reactions to it.
This makes it ideal for products used on a daily basis.
It can be used in Sun Screens, Moisturisers, Powdered Make-up, Lip and Baby products and virtually any Skin Treatment product.
Aromantic's Microfine Titanium Dioxide is of the Rutile modification.
Add during the heating of the Vegetable Oil in the Fat Stage of making your product.
You need less of this than Tiosol, so it is very cost effective.

- Hi, can I know Microfine Titanium Dioxide can be used as a substitute for Zinc oxide? Or should be used combining with zinc oxide? What is the recommended dosage for a lip balm product?
- Microfine Titanium Dioxide can be used as an alternative to Zinc Oxide in lip balm formulations, or you can combine both for enhanced protection. We recommend using Microfine Titanium Dioxide at approximately 1% to 5% in lip balm products.
- i just got to use this tonight- i wanted to make a daily moisturiser. i used 10 % and put it in oil phase -as soon as i added water phase it clumped and looked like a pot of out of date paint :( -i used a different emusifier so il try it again with my normal one. i put niacinamide in aswell -would this have affected it do u think ?
- Thank you for your enquiry. Please see the below response from our Research and Development Team: "I don't believe the niacinamide would cause this. It's so difficult to know why this happened without taking into consideration every other ingredient in the formula, amounts used, temperature, amount of stirring/whisking, how quickly it was incorporated etc. I think 10% of microfine titanium dioxide is absolutely fine. My first thought would be the emulsifier and/or whether the oil phase was suitably mixed and the titanium dioxide thoroughly dispersed prior to adding the water to it."
- What is the percentage you would use when making a face cream but adding this and having spf 30 or more?
- Thank you for your enquiry. Microfine Titanium Dioxide is difficult to work with and we only stock it now as an opacifier for makeup and for people who are already experienced in using it as a sunscreen. The maximum amount of microfine titanium dioxide that is allowed in a sun product is 25%. It's important to point out that we cannot advise on SPF products as there are separate rules for testing and proving SPF so I would recommend speaking to a Safety Assessor for more advice, especially if considering selling the product.”
