Product Description
Product Description
Tomato Seed Oil is a lightweight, fast-absorbing oil extracted from the seeds of ripe tomatoes through expeller pressing. It is clear to light yellow in colour and has no smell. The oil is then refined to remove impurities while retaining the beneficial fatty acids and antioxidants.
This sustainable oil is rich in Linoleic Acid (Omega 6), making it perfect for dry, sensitive, or oily skin types. It works well in facial oils, serums, moisturisers, and hair care formulations, nourishing deep without clogging pores or weighing down the skin.
Tomato Seed Oil is an upcycled cosmetic ingredient. It is produced from tomato seeds that are byproducts of the food industry, making it a natural, eco-friendly choice for formulators looking for effective and sustainable ingredients. It is obtained from expeller pressing ripe tomato seeds. The resulting oil is then refined.
The blend of essential fatty acids and antioxidants reduces redness, improves uneven skin tone, and supports the skin’s natural barrier. It’s perfect for skin prone to dryness, eczema, or psoriasis, for a soothing and conditioning effect.
How to use it
How to Use
Skin Care
- Tomato Seed Oil is excellent for mature skin and all aging skin. It helps to keep the skin glowing by reducing the TransEpidermal Water Loss (TEWL) from the skin. This improves the skin tone, making the skin more youthful in appearance. Use in anti-wrinkle serums, night creams, and daily defence creams.
- Being rich in antioxidants, it will tackle free radical damage to protect and maintain all skin types. It has a good range of Essential Fatty Acids that can be further enhanced by blending with other Omega-3-rich oils like Rosehip and Chia Seed Oil. Ideal in serums.
- Tomato Seed Oil penetrates the skin very well and leaves no oily residue. This is excellent for anyone who wants the intense skin conditioning that it offers, but does not want to have a shiny or greasy feel on their skin. This makes it an important ingredient in Men’s Grooming products, after shaving serums and body lotions
- It is a good oil to use in after-sun products. UV-induced free radicals will be reduced because the oil has a high antioxidant quality. The skin tone will improve, becoming softer and more pliable.
- It is suitable for acne-prone skin. It is light and penetrates easily, so it will not feel heavy or mask-like on the skin.
- Suitable for use on Eczema and psoriasis prone skin as the skin gets the benefit from the nourishing and nurturing qualities of this oil, especially if there is also very dry, flaky, or cracked skin.
Hair Care
- Tomato Seed Oil improves the quality of dry and brittle hair, especially if it has been heat-damaged by excessive sunbathing. It locks moisture into the hair shaft, promoting flexibility and improving the conditions for stronger hair growth. Use in hair serums, hair masks, and hair conditioners.
- It softens the hair shaft and helps to reduce static. This makes it great to use as a hair serum prior to heat styling. It has no greasy or sticky feel when used.
Other
- Use 1% to 100%.
- Oil soluble so cannot be used in water only products. It can be used in small amounts in water based gels that will hold it in suspension.
- Heat stable so can be used in Stage 1 (fat stage) when making creams and lotions.
- Blend Tomato Seed Oil with Shea Butter Oil, Kiwi Seed Oil and Vitamin E for stretch mark and acne scar improvements.
