Everything You Need To Know
Hemp Seed Oil is a dark, khaki to olive green, mobile oil with a nutty, earth, vegetal, slightly oily note that is quite pleasantly clean to smell. It is cold pressed from the seeds of the organic Cannabis plant.
This is 99.5% Organic Hemp Seed Oil and we have added 0.5% Vitamin E as a powerful antioxidant to keep the oil from oxidising. That Vitamin E has to be diluted in a little Sunflower Seed Oil to make it pourable.
- Use 1% to 100%.
- Oil soluble so cannot be used in water only products. It can be used in small amounts in water based gels that will hold it in suspension.
- Not heat stable so cannot be used in Stage 1 (fat stage) when making creams and lotions. Best added to Stage 3 under 40°C. Best stored in the fridge.
When Hemp Seed Oil is blended with Jojoba Oil, it makes a great hair pack for weak, heat damaged or perm damaged hair. Massage it in and leave for an hour before gently shampooing out. It makes the hair more glossy and manageable.
Combine it with Hazelnut Oil and Squalane for oily skin with large pores.
This is not an oil that can be used for cannabis related recreational use as it contains no THC. There are no hallucinogenic effects with this oil and therefore, no potential addiction problems. This is also not a CBD oil.

Skin Care
- Hemp Seed Oil is a very dry oil with a slightly “rough” texture that sinks in easily into the skin and is an excellent emollient. It penetrates the skin and makes it softer and locks in moisture. Use in products for acne prone skin as well as dehydrated skin.
- If used on sensitive skin or a baby’s skin, the slight roughness of the texture can be balanced by using very soft and smooth oils such as Kiwi Seed Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil or Peach Kernel Oil.
- Hemp Seed Oil is a great moisturiser for the skin and is rich in Omega 3 Essential Fatty Acid as well as Gamma Linolenic Acid (GLA).
- As it is so rich in Omega 6, it will moisturise the skin very well, restoring dry and dehydrated skin to become softer and more resilient. This helps to reverse the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It’s dry texture means the skin will not feel heavy or overloaded with oils. Heaver oils that are blended with it will also feel lighter and finer.
- Hemp Seed Oil is excellent to use in anti aging serums as it has a rich and balanced essential fatty acid profile with Omega’s 3, Omega 6 and Omega 9. It sinks in very fast, leaving the skin feeling supple and not greasy. This makes it great to use in men’s grooming products as men tend to prefer drier feeling products. The anti aging serums would also make desirable after shave products as they sink in so fast.
Hair Care
- A great conditioner for damaged and brittle hair. It protects the hair from further damage by heat appliances. It leaves no greasy or sticky residue. Use in hair oils, conditioners and hair packs.
- Hemp Seed Oil moisturises the hair as well as well as the scalp.
- It smooths the hair follicles making the hair shinier.
