About this product
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
A clear, colourless liquid with a weak, slightly floral aroma. It is naturally sourced from a Brazilian tree called the Candeia Tree.
According to the Cosmetic Ingredient Database (CosIng), the functions of Bisabolol are: Masking, Skin Conditioning, Soothing. To view more information, visit the CosIng Database here.
HOW TO USE IT
Use in toothpaste.
Excellent for calming down problem skin whether it be from acne-prone, rosacea, sunburn or dry-type skin conditions.
A good choice for sensitive skin products where it protects from daily stress and the effects of pollution and gives a smoothness to the skin.
Bisabolol can help to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles as well as hyperpigmentation (age spots).
Use in baby products like nappy creams and cleansing gels.
Add to aftersun gels and light lotions to calm down any redness in the skin.
Superb in an after shave lotion to calm the razor rash and leave the skin feeling smooth.
Add to lip gloss and give an amazing shine to the lips.
Can be used in oil based serums, gels, creams and lotions, including those for acne prone skin.
Very effective in body scrubs where it will help soothe the skin from any sensitivity caused by the exfoliating action.
An ideal addition to nail and cuticle formulations.
Whilst many people do not want a shiny face when using products, Bisabolol is great in a leg lotion as it gives a natural sheen to the skin.
Moisturises a dry scalp.
When used in a hair pack, it will calm the scalp after chemical processing of the hair.
Very calming for a dry, itchy scalp and can be added to shampoos and conditioner.
When used at 1% or 2%, it imparts a great shine to the hair.
CAUTIONS & CONTRAINDICATIONS
None, but be aware that it can possibly increase the skin absorption of other materials used, and this may not be what is wanted with a product like a nappy rash balm.
RECIPES & BLENDS
For sensitive or irritated skin you can also use Bisabolol together with other Chamomile products such as essential oil and flower water. Comfrey Glycerol Extract and Comfrey Oil will also be beneficial. Consider also using Allantoin, Aloe Vera Concentrate and Cosmetic Prebiotic.
