Vitamin B3 has multiple benefits in skin care formulations from lightening and evening out the skin tone to boosting collagen production and keeping the skin smooth and more elastic.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

It is a white, crystalline, odorless powder with a low content of niacin.

Niacinamide is the water soluble form of niacin.

Vitamin B3 belongs to the family of the B vitamins and is essential in the diet.

Oral supplements are very useful but there has always been a side effect known as “Niacin flush” whereby the skin would appear flushed and prickly for a few minutes after taking the supplement.

This is a special cosmetic grade of Vitamin B3 with minimal residual nicotinic acid so there is no flush or prickling.

It is for external use only and the skin is left feeling very comfortable when it is used in creams, lotions, gels, toners and serums.

HOW TO USE IT

Skin Care

Improves the appearance of aging skin by stimulating new fibroblasts and collagen secretion.

This is extremely beneficial for all skin types but especially for more mature skin as it reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Use in daily creams, night creams, toners, gels and lotions.

It has powerful ingredient in products for acne prone skin.

Use in spot control serums, toners and lotions.

It will help to even the skin tone.

Helps to give a shine free finish on the skin.

Excellent use in products for rosacea and age spots.

It improves the resilience to external damage and reduces skin sensitivity giving a very comfortable skin feeling.

Very soothing to sensitive skin and can improve the appearance of hyperpigmented and photo-aged skin.

Use in calming sprays, gels and lotions.

It supports the skin’s barrier function as well as new cell growth.

Add to serums, face masks, night creams and toners.

It improves skin moisturisation and reduces transepidermal water loss (TEWL).

This is valuable in all skin types but especially so in men’s grooming products such as after shave creams and lotions as well as toners and gels.

It also encourages the production of natural emollients in the skin which keep the skin soft and improve the skin elasticity.

Hair Care

No specific hair care useage but it will make an irritated scalp feel much calmer and smoother.

Other

Use at 1% to 5%.

It can tolerate up to 70°C but it’s best to add it to the stage 3 (cool down stage) under 40°C.

It needs to be in solution before adding to a formulation.

It is water soluble and dissolves easily in water as well as glycerine.

RECIPES & BLENDS

Vitamin B3 works well with Vitamin A Palmitate for an enhanced skin lightening effect.

Dissolve into flower waters to boost their effects as toners.

Great product, easy to incorporate into your product

I like the consistency of this additive. It can be used in small or larger amounts to treat varying degrees of discolouration. It has no smell so can be used in most leave on products. Nice!
