Arctic Blackcurrant Seed CO₂ Extract is an ultra-concentrated botanical oil produced through supercritical fluid extraction – an advanced method that captures the full lipid spectrum of blackcurrant seeds (Ribes nigrum) while preserving heat-sensitive compounds. The result is a pale yellow to golden oil with a sharp, tangy note at first that has undertones of sweet blackcurrant. Do note that this product is not intended for use as a fragrance – the scent quickly dissipates and disappears in creams and balms. It is used for its beneficial skin-conditioning properties.
The supercritical CO₂ extracted Blackcurrant Seed Oil makes up 99.8% of the product. At this concentration, it delivers an intense dose of essential fatty acids, naturally occurring vitamin E (tocopherols), phytosterols, and other beneficial lipid compounds at a fraction of the inclusion rate required for cold-pressed seed oils.
0.2% Rosemary Antioxidant is added to retard oxidation and extend the keeping qualities. The Rosemary Antioxidant used consists of 0.07% Rosemary Leaf Extract in 0.13% Sunflower Oil to make it pourable.
Because of its high concentration, the extract is perfect for minimalist serums, targeted eye oils, booster drops, and facial treatments designed to soothe, replenish, and revitalise stressed skin.
The product can become thicker if stored in a cold area. It simply needs to be warmed gently by holding the bottle in your hand or putting it in some warm water.
