Sugar Lips Lip Scrub Recipe

This lovely sugar lip scrub has a refreshing spearmint fragrance and helps to keep your lips soft. Why not try it as an exfoliant for hands as well.

Stage 1: (heat until melted)

31% Sweet Almond Oil

18% Cocoa Butter

Stage 2: (cool down)

50% Golden Caster Sugar

0.5% Vitamin E

0.5% Spearmint Essential Oil

100% Total

Method:

  • Heat the Stage 1 (fat stage) ingredients in a stainless steel or borosilicate glass beaker in a double boiler (bain marie) until they are just melted. There is no need to use a thermometer.
  • Remove from the heat and place in a pan of cold water. Keep stirring with a spatula until it looks custard like, and is beginning to set up around the side of the beaker, but is still pourable.

  • Add the Stage 2 ingredients and stir in thoroughly to combine all the ingredients.
  • Continue to cool either in a pan of cold water or the ‘fridge. You may notice the sugar settling to the bottom but don’t worry. As the Sugar Lips Lip Scrub sets firmer simply stir it all together again and the sugar should stay suspended in the mixture.
  • Scoop into pots and label.
  • As there is no water in this product, no preservative is needed.

How To Use:

Scoop out a small amount of Sugar Lips Lip Scrub and rub gently over the lips for a minute or so to remove flaky skin. Rinse off with warm water and pat dry or wipe off any excess with a tissue. Your lips will love you for it.
