About this product
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Castor oil is a clear to pale yellow oil derived from cold-pressed castor seeds. Although the seed of the castor plant contains lethal protein ricin, the extraction process denatures this protein, leaving an oil that’s safe to use. Our organic castor oil is very stable and takes a long time to oxidise.
Castor oil is a natural emollient, making it a fantastic soother and softener for dry, damaged skin. You can also use organic castor oil in cosmetic cleansing products, as it has strong cleansing properties and the ability to bind oil and water together.
This oil is known for its protective qualities. As well as being applied to the skin, it is often used to repair and replenish damaged hair or strengthen fragile nails. Incorporate it into a range of homemade cosmetics for excellent results.
Cautions/Contraindications:
Do not use castor oil during pregnancy as it may potentially cause uterine contractions.

HOW TO USE IT
- Use 1% to 100%.
- Organic castor oil is oil-soluble and unsuitable for use in water-only products. However, small amounts can be used in water-based gels that will hold the oil in suspension.
- This oil is heat stable and can be used in the fat stage (stage 1) when creating creams and lotions.
Add some slip to castor oil by blending it with other carrier oils such as jojoba oil, sweet almond oil or apricot kernel oil.
